Northmodern -My top 5 Design items AW’16

It is that time of year again, where all of my favourite brands enter the big trade shows, and I love going to them, collecting inspiration, chit chatting and meeting new people, gathering new trends.

This year I have been to Northmodern – the Interiors fair in Copenhagen. They have just announced that Northmodern – as we know it, will change, and become a much bigger event next year, – in the style of the Milan design week, and incorporate venues all over Copenhagen, and become more of a festival of design. The next Northmodern will take place in May 2017 – I look forward to seeing what comes next, and can’t wait for Copenhagen to host such a great event.

Anyways, back to business. I always like spotting trends and these are my favourite items of AW2016. These are the mainstream items, that will be in store for you and me to enjoy. I will share some of the most luxurious items later.

MY TOP 5  DESIGN ITEMS FROM NORTHMODERN AW 2016

Haze Vitrine from Ferm Living, crafted from powder coated metal and textural armoured glass. So stunning, and very cool and sleek,  it reminds me of cabinets we had at school.

Pikaplant jar contains a plant you’ll never have to water. It has it’s on tiny ecosystem inside, and continuously recycles the water and air inside the jar – absolutely genius if you ask me!

KK classic daybed from ByKlipKlap is a stunning contemporary piece of furniture that would look stunning in any home. The daybed comes in different types of wood, and with different types of textile in many colours.

Brass rings from Strups are multifunctional brass rings in 2 sizes. You can use them in the bathroom, as a simple, yet stunning ornament, or in the kitchen for your tea towels.

Although the Tallow candlestick from Ontwerpduo isn’t exactly new, it was the first time I saw it, and I love it. Quicky, fancy and cool, the original candlestick and candle all in wax – so fine indeed.
