Best things in life are free

Anya Jensen10th January 2017
2017 has started with a bang – and like many other people I was more than happy to get shot of 2016 – which quite frankly was annus horribilis. We lost so many of my adored musicians, actors, then the Brexit announcement and the election of Trump to top it all off.

It seems that people have lost the sense of togetherness, the sense of unity and I think it is so sad and rather disturbing. We as a family, try to make our children grow up to be inclusive rather than exclusive, but unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be the political norm at the moment.

But I will persevere and keep sprinkling hygge everywhere.  All it boils down too really is doing something for people, without expecting anything back. Taking pleasure in the smaller things in life, and paying it forward. Did you ever watch that movie? It kinda broke my heart, because this little guy was doing everything in his power to get people united and doings something great and then he got killed…. And that is like life.

We have all read the story about the old man who on his deathbed only talked about the one thing he regretted was not spending his life doing the things he actually enjoyed, like spending time with his family, playing board games, traveling and being with people he cared about. My  Grandmother says exactly the same – have a look here.

So this year for me is all about happiness, small pleasures in life, and being there for someone else. If you fancy joining me – I think that would be great. The best things in life are free – so this is the hashtag I’ll share my stories with on Instagram #bestthingsinlifearefree. Find me here if you want to see more – and I look forward to seeing your hashtags too.
