Selinevej flower field Copenhagen

A few years ago, the Cherry blossom alley on Bispebjerg Kirkegård became an Instagram sensation, and ended up with people travelling from afar, just to be part of the pink cherry blossom extravaganza.

This year Copenhagen has found a new obsession. A wild flower field just on the outskirts of the city, planted by the government, to prepare the soil and earth for a pending cityforest.

They have planted thousands of seeds of the most beautiful flowers; poppies, cornflowers, marigolds and many more, all known to have good  properties for preparing the soil for the 25.000 trees that will be planted in the next few years. The new cityforest will be a great new recreational space, as well as playing host to many insects, wild animals and botanical speices.

Anyways, back to the field of dreams. We went there the other day, and after a bit of a drive around we found the most amazing field I have ever seen. The girls were also speechless, and then we just wandered around, taking it all in, and picking the most beautiful bouquets – perfectly wild and utterly stunning.

The field is ecpected to keep blooming until the frost sets in. So what are you waiting for. SELINEVEJ byskov awaits you.

SELINEVEJ – the secret is to drive all the way to the end, park your bike or car, and climb up the hill, look right and you’ll find it. But hurry along, because I am sure the flowers are dissappearing as fast as they bloom these days 🙂
